It has been many weeks since I updated this note and I apologize for that. Things became very hectic. We completed the KSWDC project and I ended up having spoken to and interacted with close to 35000 young women in Kerala. This has lead to an understanding of a need to put a long term mechanism of counseling and help in place and this is being done by the Chief Minister of Kerala through a programme called Nirbhaya of which I am a part.
We have created a new short performance Essences for Malyalam Manorama’s new entertainment channel and have just toured five cities with it. It has been a fun experience as we needed to create an interactive show on the five senses.
Tagorenama preparations are in full swing with all three foreign collaborators in Darpana. Symon Macintyre, the Director of Street of Voices will start work on Monday.
If you are in Ahmedabad, block your end December dates, and if in Kolkata then the 6th and 7th of January for the Tagorenama.

About Mallika
When asked what I like to be introduced as - dancer, choreographer, publisher, activist, writer, actor – I tend to say that I am a communicator.
And that all the others are the different languages in which I communicate.
This blog is an attempt to communicate to a larger audience, to all of you.
There are many things that concern me, and that I think concern many many people around the world. The web is a great place to do that as you know.
The world is not in a happy or healthy place. Yet wonderful, optimistic, hope-filled attempts at changing them are happening all around. We need to bring these together so that we can form the critical mass of opinion, of energy, of effective change to say
ENOUGH OF ALL THAT IS WRONG
Through this web site I hope to create a platform for people who care – care about people, about non-violence, about nature, about cruelty, about poverty, about justice, about greed and deprivation and about caring.
